Is there a parking fee?

Parking is free and max. 1 car can be parked per accommodation. Family homes allow for max. 3 cars. Any remaining cars can be parked on the central parking site next to the reception.

Is it possible to come for a swim if you're not a Witterzomer Holiday park guest?

Unfortunately, this is not allowed. We do not offer daily recreations.

Are you allowed to barbecue in the park?

Yes, that is allowed if it's an elevated barbecue, there's no open fire, and the remaining guests are not bothered by the smell/smoke.

Do friends and family have to pay when they come visit us?

The modified policies currently do not allow you to receive visitors at the park.

Surroundings

Are dogs allowed on the accommodation?

In some accommodations you're allowed to take a dog (max. 2 per accommodation) with you. You must notify us of this during your booking. You will pay €4 per dog per night and an extra cleaning charge of €12.50 per stay.

Is it possible to use the Internet on the park?

Wireless (paid) Internet is available on the Holiday Park. You can ask for the log-in code at the reception.

Do you also have hiking and cycling routes?

Yes, we sell special hiking and cycling maps and routes and there is a special surroundings map that you can buy for €3.45 at the reception.

I have rented a children's bed, are sheets and/or duvets included with it?

No, bed sheets and duvets are not included. You need to bring those with you yourself.

Can I park my car at my accommodation?

Yes, each holiday home and chalet has a parking sire for max. 1 car. Other vehicles can be parked on the central parking site at the entrance of the park.

Can I bring my car to the camping site?

Yes, the car can be parked next to your camping means if there is enough space. You are allowed to park max. 1 car, other vehicles will have to be parked on the central parking site.

I'll be arriving with two or more vehicles to the camping site.

This is possible. One vehicle is allowed per accommodation, the rest can be used for loading and unloading but must afterward be parked on the central parking site next to the reception.

Are there seasonal sites in the park as well?

Yes, at this moment there are still some available seasonal sites. You can contact the reception at 0592-393535 for more information.

Are energy costs included?

No. The energy use (gas and electric) of the family homes will be calculated from the meter readings upon departure and settled with the paid deposit.

Are towels and kitchen cloths included in the booking?

No, but you can rent packages that include them.

Is Internet available in the park?

You can use a paid, wireless WiFi network in the park. Internet codes are available at the reception, where you can notify them of how long you wish to use the Internet. The code can be used on 4 devices.

Is laundry possible?

Yes, laundry is available in the park. A laundry coin costs €5 (automatic soap dose) and a dryer coin is €2. The coins are available in the reception or in the supermarket.

Do family homes include an open fireplace?

Family homes have an open fireplace that must be cleaned after being used. No firewood is present, you must take it with you yourself.

Is the pool open to people who are not park guests?

No, our warming outdoor pool is only for Witterzomer guests. It's open from the May holidays until the last weekend of August.

Arrival and departure times per accommodation

There are several arrival and departure times, as you can see below:

Checking in and out

From what time can I check-in and -out of the Family Homes?
Your (16 or 20 people) Family Home is available from 16:00 onwards on the day of your arrival. Upon arrival at the Witterzomer Holiday Park, you will receive a Witterzomer time schedule with a map and some "house rules" regarding arrival, stay and departure. In your group's accommodation, you will find a map with extensive information. We will ask for a €150 deposit upon your arrival. On the day of your departure, we ask that you abandon your accommodation before 11:00 after an inspection. Naturally, you may use all of our facilities on your arrival and departure days.

From what time can I check-in and -out of the Camping?

You can access your camping spot from 14:00 on the camping site. The terrain, with warming sanitary facilities, is open all year round. You must abandon your camping spot before 12:00 on the day of your departure.

Can I also check-in/arrive earlier?

Because of the switch (previous guests leave before 10:00), the holiday homes are still being cleaned until 15:00. After consulting with us, we can exceptionally check whether you can check-in earlier.

I will arrive late tonight, once the reception has closed. Can I still enter my accommodation?

You need to contact the reception if you're going to arrive later. Next to the reception (on the right), there is a black telephone through which you can reach a member of the staff who will give you the key to your holiday home. The next day you can come to the reception for more information. On Fridays we're open until 22:00.

I want to leave very early on my departure day/I want to leave the night before my departure day. Where do I leave the key?

You can leave the key in the yellow newspaper box, next to the door of the reception.

Are the beds made upon arrival?

No. You can have your bed made in your holiday home or chalet for €6 per bed. You can notify the reception of this up to one week before your arrival.

From what time can I check-in and -out of the holiday home/chalet?

Your holiday home/chalet is available from 15:00 on the day of your arrival. Upon arrival at Witterzomer Holiday Park, you will receive a Witterzomer schedule with a map and some "house rules" regarding arrival, stay and departure. In your bungalow you will find a map with extensive information. On the day of your departure you must abandon your holiday home/chalet before 10:00.

Are hoverboards allowed at the park

Safety rules at our park disallow seated hoverboards. This is due to their bad visibility, upright hoverboards are allowed.

Does the tourist tax also apply to babies?

No, that applies to children of more than 1 year of age.

What are preference fees?

You have shown a preference for a holiday home/chalet, a specific design or a certain area. This will cost you €24.50 and that will ensure that you get the holiday home that fits your specific preferences.

When do I have to pay?

After the reservation you will receive a confirmation message through email or normal mail. The first payment must be made within 14 days and then you'll reservation will be final. The rest must be paid 6 weeks before your arrival. Should you make your booking 6 weeks before arrival, then you will have to pay the full sum within 14 days of your booking. Should you book 14 days before your arrival, you may pay upon arrival. You won't receive confirmation messages regarding your payments.

What are preference fees?

You have shown a preference for a holiday home/chalet, a specific design or a certain area. This will cost you €24.50 and that will ensure that you get the holiday home that fits your specific preferences.

Can I book cancellation insurance?

Yes, you can book this during your reservation. The cost is of 5.5% of the total travel cost + €6.00 policy fees.

Am I required to pay cleanings costs for the group accommodations?

At the 20-person Family Homes you can take care of cleaning yourself or have it done for you, which costs an additional €150.00. For the 16-person Comfort Family Homes, you are required to book the final cleaning.

Is bedding included in the rental price of the holiday homes/chalets?

You don't have to carry bed linen with you. Each person is required to pay €8.00 for a linen set with every reservation.

Can I order groceries in advance and have them delivered to the holiday home/chalet?

Yes, that is possible. Please call 0592-393535.

Are there non-smoking chalets and holiday homes?

Yes, all Witterzomer Holiday Park accommodations are non-smoking.

Are there holiday homes for people with disabilities?

Yes, there is a holiday home (Type C6) suitable for people with disabilities. You can show your preference for these homes during your reservation.

Can people with disabilities go to the chalets as well? Unfortunately, chalets are not equipped for wheelchairs.

Are dogs allowed in the chalets?

No, but there are holiday homes where your dog is welcome. You will have to pay €4.00 per dog per night and an extra cleaning charge of €12.50 per holiday home.

Can we also purchase a holiday home/chalet?

Holiday homes are not for sale, but chalets/mobile homes are.

Are holiday homes equipped with an oven?

No, but holiday homes do have a microwave. In the Deluxe Chalets you will find microwave-oven combos.

Are bedsheets included in the rental price of the holiday homes/chalets?

You don't have to take bed linen with you. Every guest pays a necessary €8.00 per booking for a set of them.

Can I order groceries in advance so they will be delivered to my holiday home/chalet?

Yes, that is possible. For more information regarding delivery, please call 0592-393535.

Are bed linens available in the family home?

In the 20-person Family Home you'll find a pillow and duvet per bed. A duvet set can be rented for €8.00 per set.

In the 16-person Comfort Family Home, you're required to rent the duvet sets.

Can I take my car to the family home?

Yes, each family home has parking space for max. 3 cars. Other vehicles must be parked on the central parking sire at the entrance of the park.

Can I order groceries in advance so they will be delivered to my holiday home/chalet?

Yes, that is possible. For more information regarding delivery, please call 0592-393535.

Are dogs allowed in the family homes?

Some Family Homes allow pets (max. 2 per accommodation) upon request. You will have to pay €4 per pet per night and an extra cleaning charge of €12.50. You're required to book the end cleaning for the 20-person Family Home if you take a pet with you.

Do family homes include ovens?

The 16-person Comfort Family Homes include a microwave-oven combo. The 20-person Family Homes only include a microwave, no oven.

In some accommodations you are allowed to bring a dog (max. 2 per accommodation) with you. You must notify us of this when booking. You will pay €4 per dog per night and an extra cleaning charge of €12.50 per pet.

Is Holiday park Witterzomer accessible by public transport?

At present, there is no direct connection to Holiday park Witterzomer. However, you can use public transportation to Assen train station. From here you can take a taxi or public transport bicycle to the holiday park. The address is Witterzomer 7, 9405 VE Assen

Can you go bowling at Holiday park Witterzomer?

Yes, you can go bowling on one of the four alleys in the basement of Skik. More information and prices can be found here .
