Drents Museum

The Drents Museum in Assen was reopened in 2012. The museum now has 4,600 m2 of fascinating archaeology, leading contemporary realism, and magnificent art from the1885-1935 period. From 2012, major international exhibitions will be presented in the new museum wing, an archaeological tour de force designed by the renowned architect Erick van Egeraat. The various sections, all of which have been given a new look, regularly feature temporary exhibitions. In the new Drents Museum there is plenty to see, do, and experience for an entire day of fun. This is also the case for children and young people, because the new Children's Museum, the Archeolab, and the Art Floor were specially designed for this age group. Moreover, children up to the age of 18 also have free admission to the museum!
